Confirmation Letter of GMP Compliance for Natural Health Products

A Confirmation Letter of GMP Compliance is an official document that verifies a company’s compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for the production of natural health products (NHPs) in Canada. While not titled as an International Trade Certificate (ITC), this letter is treated as equivalent for the purpose of export documentation.

What Information Is Included?
The Confirmation Letter of GMP Compliance provides detailed information, including:
• The site license holder’s name and contact details
• The specific dosage forms of the NHP (e.g., tablet, capsule, liquid)
• The locations where the product is manufactured, packaged, and labelled
• The site license number and its expiration date

This letter helps international regulatory agencies verify that the product is made in a licensed Canadian facility that meets GMP standards.

Issued with ITC Cover Letter by FHCP
Each letter is issued by Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada (FHCP) and is accompanied by a formal cover letter confirming FHCP’s status as an authorized third-party issuer of export documentation for natural health products. This enhances the certificate’s credibility for global trade and product registration.

Who Can Request This Letter?
These letters are issued only for natural health products produced within the food manufacturing sector. Other product types are not eligible.
